Via Dinarica HR-W-20 Gračac - Zrmanja - Krka

Really loooong hike, mostly on the gravel and asphalt roads :S all the time on the sun, I was burning! Trail to Čardak: we wanted to avoid hiking on busy asphalt road so we went as is shown on 2 photos. Mostly nice gravel roads and small asphalt roads, we needed to hike a little bit on a unmowed grass and we came right in front of a farm, which was a little bit weird, but still much much better than asphalt road. Trail on Čardak well signed. To Oklinak we found few signes at the beginning and at the end, but between we didn't and needed to bushwhack. Descent from Oklinak: no trail, but it's nice to hike on grassy hills. Shortcut on 26,2km really overgrown with prickly bushes, so I don't know if it's really worth it. We slept next to the river, really nice place to camp (close to the house on the way to the source of Zrmanja), aprox km 27,6. River is first source for water in this stage, after that you cross the river few times, faucet with water in Zrmanja Vrelo. Nice to go to the source of Zrmanja. From here we followed the trail to 37,4km (nice gravel road). Here we couldn't find the trail any more (we went around the fence by the house as well) so we returned to 37,4km and took another gravel road that crosses the river. We continued hiking on small asphalt road to a church. Here we went back down to the river and crossed it. A little bit overgrown trail until 40km. Here we went back on the asphalt road, because they told us, that this shortcut that it's on the map doesn't exist. We walked just a little bit on busy asphalt road and then went left on small asphalt road. Under viaduct is a really nice place by the river for a break and refresh in the river. Then we decided to follow the main busy asphalt road to Knin. We didn't go to Mokro polje, because it is aprox 6km longer. At least there is a pedestrian pavement most of the time. Then we left main asphalt road and hiked on gravel road and small asphalt road in the way to Žagrović (google map recommended that way). Before serpentines to Knin you have a really nice trail to city, so you can avoid hiking on the main road (on the photo).

Long road walk. We skipped the Oklinak because we missed the trail, but quit the main road after 16km from Gracac, returned to the road for a short part, before leaving again down to Zemanjo Vrelo. Don’t miss the spring before passing Zermanjo, real fresh water after how many days? After the village we followed the gravel road up to Pribudic (original VD would remain in the valley). We placed our tent shortly before Pribudic. In Bender the gravel road changes to a tarred road. The trail then soon returns back to the original VD gpx-trail.
